hello all! sorry it has been so long since my last blog - you know how it goes. i am now the proud owner of one yellow wall and one beautiful bright blue bathroom. yay! i also have cable tv and will have the internet from the comfort of my own room (which means more frequent blogs - lucky you!) once i get my new computer power charger, the universe stole mine. :( so overall my life is pretty good right now. last night i got frustrated and decided that i was no longer going to sleep on the couch. so at 10pm i thought it was a good call to begin to build my ikea bed. 3 hours later it was done. i slept, though few hours, in a real bed last night - and it was AMAZING. i have this kickin foam mattress and i'm very happy. there really isn't a greater joy than laying in bed and watching tv . . . small things . . .

on a separate note - i have to give my 2 cents on reagan's passing. those of you who've talked to me in the past few months have all heard my predictions on reagan's death in sept or oct - which is better timing in an election year. either way this works real well for bush - i was a few months off - my bad. but seriously, i just finished reading Dutch and of course Reagan played an incredibly large role in my thesis, i do fee saddened at his passing. While his policies were by no means acceptable to many people, and i myself disagree with most of them, one cannot ignore the positive perception of politics he gave to much of the public. Excluding the shrinking minority that pays attention to policy stances, the general public loved reagan and loved the feeling they got from him. Reagan saw his presidency as a movie, they they shared the same goals - to leave the audience feeling satisfied at the end of it - which reagan did an incredible job of. enough so that bush caught the wave and was elected - it is rare that a VP gets promoted to pres, and it speaks volumes about reagan's popularity that bush was able to serve his third term. the only problem about an administration being like a movie is that nothing gets accomplished in a movie, you just feel like something does. this was the problem with much of the reagan administration.

but either way i will be paying my respects in the rotunda on thursday. have to give the cali love.
