hey world. another update from broward! things are still going well here, just very busy. today i spent some quality time on the phones, both on a rented cell phone and in "the barney" which is basically a veyr large, very purple trailer filled with phones - but it is the most complex and tedhnologically advanced phone system i've ever seen! they've got 12 lines hooked up, so 12 people sitting at computer screen with headsets on. you feed in a huge list to the computer and the computer auto-dials for everyone, going down the list. their name automatically pops up on your screen and as you talk to them you code them in various ways. oh, and this wonder-phone system will automatically weed out bad numbers and numbers that no one answers. it's kick ass. it then spits out an electronic copy of the phone results (i.e. these people want to volunteer, here are their numbers or whatnot.) it's amazing.

other than that i've been maintaining the volunteer list, which is a lot of late night work (calls stop at 9, which is when the data entry begins . . . woo hoo). needless to say i've had some long nights. but it is so much easier to see the direct results of my work here rather than at NDN, so it makes it worth it :)

also - all the hype about campaign food is true. besides a good breakfast of total cereal every morning (thanks to my grocery shopping skills on the first night) my food for the rest of the day is a mixed bag. today i had my cereal, a salami sandwich, about 50 lifesavers, 4 cookies, and it's 8:20pm and i have yet to have dinner. oh - i also had half a box of triscuts. awesome.
