ok - so i'm here - with everything you've been wanting to hear! but before i get into the convention - has anyone seen the village? i did - and i don't mean to make everything political - but can it be a coincidence that the evil character are red and the image of purity and innoncence in the film wears blue? just saying . . .

so the convention was fabulous - busy but fabulous! we spent most of fri and sat getting everything ready for the week - getting organized, handling the rsvps that were still coming in - all that good stuff. we had an office in the hyatt in boston so we had a copy machine and computers - the whole deal. you can be incredibly organized, but with things like this it seem that it never matters - things go to hell no matter what.

sunday we had our first event - but i was a member of the stay-in-the-office crew - so i got my fill of cnn that night! it was probably one of the least excitement filled nights there - but that was ok.

monday was the most exciting day for me! every morning we did ticket pick up in the morning - which wasn't the world's most exciting thing - but thanks to free copies of the times and dunkin donuts coffee we managed to survive! each day seemed to go by so quickly - i can't even remember what i did the whole time - but monday night i got into the convention. angie and kirstin didn't want to stay for bill - so i got in. to get into the fleet center one needed a credential. there were several levels ranging from podium passes to yellow passes that only allowed you into the perimeter area of the fleet center. we were lucky enough to get green credentials (special guest) so we got seats! we actually found seats on monday night - which was a feat cause most people had been there since 4 - when it opened. we got there at like 9:15 and it was packed. i got to see bill and hillary and it was amazing - as i'm sure everyone's heard by now - bill did an incredible job. you just feel like he's talking to you - he's amazing. and while i loved bill i was saddended that our best speaker in the democratic party had just walked off the stage and the rest of the convention would be downhill. how little did i know . . . after the speeches we headed down to the floor to see if we could meet up with a friend - but ended being able to get onto the floor - which was a total thrill. we hung around for probably an hour after everything had ended and watched all the newscasters file their evening stories - and for me, the poli comm nerd that i am - it was so exciting to be in and amongst the stars of news world. and if that doesn't do it for you - i also saw ben affleck!

tuesday was more tickets and office work - more stuff i can't remember - the speech that night was obama, of course. however - did anyone see dean? i thought he did a terrible job. his speech was chopy and just a mess in general. i had issue with him, gore and lieberman - they all did this "well gosh, i wish i was standing here under different circumstances" thing - which i thought was tacky. anyway - obama was amazing - which i told him when i saw him early in the morning on fri at logan! i think that between obama, edwards and hillary we are set.

wednesday i got back into the fleet center for edwards - who was the other speaker i really wanted to see! a friend of mine had friends in the credential office - so we got passes to the premiere club - which had free drink, free food and an awesome view! i thought that elizabeth edwards did just a great job - everyone says that she is a huge asset to john - and i saw on wed night just how true that really was. we were just in awe of her. but then when john came out - good god. the whole crowd went just insane, me among them. it was incredible. and edwards totally lived up to it. i am continually amazed by him and his family.

thursday was also hectic - and i already posted about kerry's speech - so you can read that.

but now - for a novel new aspect of my blog . . . felt like i left something out? want to hear more about something else? use the comments box at the top of the page! start a new thread about teresa's speech - or iraq - or anything! this isn't just a blog for me, but for us :) aid in this huge grassroots effort and reach out to your fellow democrats.

seriously, this election is about participation - start small and practice your stump speech here - and then start passing it along to everyone you talk to! please!

ok, done for now. honest.
