hello world! i apologize to all my loyal readers (who i am discovering is really more than just mom and dad) for my complete lack of blogging the past week and a half - i was home in california celebrating my parent's 25th wedding anniversary vow renewal. we had the wedding yesterday (july 17) and it went off very well. esp. because my dress was gorgeous :) i am anxious to get back to work and start recovering from my week and a half away, although i'm sure there won't be that much to do! ;) it's odd being away from the beltway for so long - but probably good for me in the long run! but to catch up i read time, newsweek and us news and world report on the plane ride back. i love to see my boys (johns kerry and edwards) on the cover of so many magazines looking so beautiful! new john edwards awe fact of the day: in 1995 he climbed mt kilamanjaro with his son. how many people out there think dick cheney could do that? how many people think dick cheney can climb stairs without getting winded? exactly. i leave for the convention on fri morning for a week up in boston - if you'll be there - let me know! i promise to blog more frequently, and i will do what i can do blog from the convention - so stay tuned here for the best convention updates around!

i now have business cards AND black rolling luggage . . . wow.

and of course, i am not solely obssesed with politics. i am also obsessed with the tour de france! i hope everyone out there is watching - it's good this year! the big thing is whether lance will make it 6 or not - and if you've been under a rock or soemthing - no one has ever won 6 tours before - 4 have tried, but none can. this year people thought lance was too old, not in good form and that jan ullrich, tyler hamilton, roberto heras and iban mayo would have the chance to beat him. but jan is 7 minutes back, tyler dropped, roberto and iban are over 30 min back. wow. it looks as though lance will come do and make it 6 - any bets on 7 anyone?? although ivan basso is fast becoming the new rider to watch - but no one wants to threaten lance - it just makes him mad, and if you are trying to win the tour the last thing you want to do is make lance mad . . . wed is the big day - alpe d'huez time trial. if you don't know what that means - become educated and check it out: olntv.com
