so many things to discuss today - don't even know where to start!
1. we have a new pope - woo hoo. jewish kid in my office asks me if i'm excited, and i'm like - not really, i'm not religious. this ensues a 5 minute conversation of him refusing to believe i'm really not religious and he finally walks away after deciding that sense "morozovsky" is ukranian i'm obviously part of the greek church. this is why i disagree with organized religion - can anyone say "open mind"??
2. today is free cone day at ben and jerry's! yay! my favorite day of the year! i'm going in half an hour :) but yet, on the east coast they always manage to screw it up - the gw ben and jerry's refused to celebrate free cone day. and today everyone at ndn was so confused - how do they make sure you don't take an extra cone? do you need a coupon? come on people, this is a tradition - just take it as a gift from the wonderful people and ben and jerry's and enjoy it!
3. this morning i purchased a ticket to the 12:01 am showing of episode 3 at gallery place. i am uber-pumped. mad props to sarah parkinson for coming with me. i don't know if i'm more excited to see the movie or to enjoy the fabulous communal experience the midnight movie is.
4. last night i ate dinner and did my laundry while watching easy rider. i had forgotten how much i really really enjoyed that movie. way under-rated if you ask me. it's just so free-ing. but after watching that again and finishing motorcycle diaries i think i may need to go on a road trip and become some kind of revolutionary. this notion got stronger today after the whole "what do you mean you don't have a religion? i don't understand how that works? does the man approve of this?" i feel like the road would understand my lack or religiosity . . .
i am also convinced that even though one wears Gap clothing one can still be considered a hippie - and that someone from long island cannot determine whether i have lost that or not - given that someone from long island doesn't understand norcal.
i think living over here and working for this organization has made me more leftist than i was originally inclined to be - interesting.
