hello all! hope all is well with all of you. not much to report on this end - just in a waiting game with the DCCC. GW grduation was this weekend - which makes it officially on year since i graduated - i no longer a new grad - scary! but in reflecting on the past year i think i've done pretty damn good for myself, so i think i'm ok with this new class arriving on the streets of DC searching for a job and a place to live - not sure you could pay me to do that again. but in a "pay-it-forward" manner i'm allowing one of these poor fools (my old roommate caitlin) crash with me until her apt opens up. and i have to admit i'm a little excited about having a roommate again, even if it's only for 3 weeks :)
in political news the filibuster/nuclear option shit is about to hit the fan today. all eyes on cspan please! for those of you searching for a way to combine the 2 big stories of the day (this and star wars) no worries - move on has done it for you. this ad is probably the oddest and scaruest thing i've seen in a long time, on several levels. check it out.
i of course saw episode 3 twice now (which pales in comparison to my much cooler younger brother) but i can say that when i went to see it a second time around i did it it order - watching 1 & 2 first, then directly following episode 3, with 4, 5 & 6. and let me tell you - it is much more hard core that way. i think the thing that changed the most for me was when vadar dies - it was a much more powerful scene when you have watched his whole story - i dunno - i'm obviously a loser. anyway, if you have 15 hours of free time you should do the marathon - very fun.
in other shocking news - people in the middle east don't like laura bush. holy crap. maybe it's because they don't like her husband - who unilaterally started a war in their region. i think the real shocking thing is that the main stream media seems to think this is "news" haven't they been paying attention for the last like 2 years? the world isn't exactly a big fan of us right now - and a few people heckling the woman married to the man who represents that isn't news - what would be news is if people weren't heckling her.
so those are my thoughts for the day - more to come if this filibuster thing comes to a head. i'm with the democrats on this one - the 10 judges this is over are terrible terrible choices and we're basically hanging on to the threads of power we still have to stop what we can - but this whole nuclear thing isn't going to help anyone. but then again for this to stop we would need clear rational thinking from both sides. i'm sure it exists on ours, but past mccain i'm not sure the other kids can think clearly.
