hey all - so sorry for the serious lack of postings lately, esp with the many political goings-on. let's just say that the whole "washington is a bubble with way more media/information than anywhere else" thing is totally true - up here in hartford i feel a little cut off. but not to fear my triumphant return to dc is upon us - i will be down there this coming saturday to tuesday for work and some fun. hurrah! i am obviously very very excited, but am also a little nervous - i'm pretty sure it's going to be a little weird to visit a place i feel so at home in. kind of like going home again, only in a weirder sense. who knows - more on that once it happens.

thank god mike brown stepped down. would have been nicer if his ass had been fired - or really if bush's ass had been fired - but i'll take what we can get at this point.

things on the campaign are totally crazy as the looming sept. 30th deadline quickly approaches. yikes! since it's my first deadline as an official finance director i'm probably worrying about it too much - but that's all part of the gig.

this whole supreme court thing is also very aggravating - why does he get two nominations, WHY!? i guess it's good that they were both conservative judges, rehnquist esp. i've already had my fit over o'connor leaving. it's just not fair. it'll be interesting to see how the hearings go - if i had a tv in here i'd be watching c-span - but alas no tv. but joe biden is in here and i heart joe biden, so i feel like it'll all be ok. or as ok as it can be when the republicans control all 3 branches of government. and yes, i do think it's bogus that bush is nominating roberts to be chief justice - i mean who is this kid to take over that job? it's just so bush can have his stupid legacy. stupid lame duck president. cause anything is really going to over shadow the mess in iraq . . .

anywho, guess that's all for now - keep the faith! 2006 is only 14 months away!
