because sometimes being a bitch is more fun.

hello all - look at me - 2 blogs in 2 days - rock on. i forgot in yesterday's post to thank everyone for their good words about my previsou blog (AKA "bitch blog") - i got a lot of support on it (mainly from women, and also my dad) but it was good to hear that i'm not actually crazy.

i'm writing today as part of an outreach i'm doing - here in the office every third word mentioned is "DNC Chair" - is this a thing in the real world? it's sometimes real hard to tell if what we are going on and on about inside the beltway is even making a ripple out there. i'm beginning to think i've reached a new level of insider - when your boss is maybe/possibly/probably running for the largest insider postion in DC - i figure you're pretty much square in the middle of the whole mess. like do people out there even know who wellington webb is? i mean, granted i didn't either a month ago - but my brain has cleared out more of my valuable information so i can have that name in there. awesome.

also - do people out there feel like they've gotten dumber since graduation? like i feel like i've lost a lot of my intellectual/book knowledge. maybe lost is the wrong word - maybe replaced is better. i do have knowledge and i am learning everyday, but theories on liberalism are being lost to database functions. i'm not quite sure what to do about that. but my gw education was worth it mom and dad - i promise!

ok, so i'm back - sorry it's been so long since my last post - obviously i had some things to work out.

i still maintain that being a bitch is a good thing - and a necessary thing if you are planning on being treated like an equal in this world. if you have a problem with that - you should probably stop reading this site. or really - realize that it's 2004 and this is just how it is, deal with it.

i have also developed a new attutide at work. i like to call it "i-don't-want-an-ulcer-by-the-time-i-turn-25" so i'm re-adjusting my priorites. for instance, i have decided that taking 20 min a day to break away from wor for either lunch or to blog is a good an healthy thing and helps me maintain a sense of perspective on the world. for instance, while reading washingtonpost.com i realize that if my thank you notes get out tomorrow instead of today - no one really cares. so there you have that.

i also realized how insanely made liberal i am. take these points for example:

1. did you know that there are som churches out there that do not allow gay members? what the hell. does this seem ridiculous to anyone else? i mean, correct me if i'm wrong, but did we not come to this country to escape religious persecution? just saying . . .

2. people still consider hunting a sport. please explain to me what is "sporting" about hunting - is it when you watch your dog chase an animal to the spot you have been sitting on your lazy ass at? or is it when your finger moves the trgger? or maybe lugging the dead carcass to your truck? or perhaps taking you rproze picture with the animal whose life you just ended? in that vein - why do we need guns at all? would the world really be so bad if they just weren't around? I mean - take a close look at that second amendment - it says that our militia is allowed to have guns - are we seriously prepared to make the NRA out militia!?

3. i am anti-smoking. anyone who knows me remotely well knows that there is nothing i hate more than smokers and second hand smoke. what i didn't realize is that people could be pro-smoking and pro-tobacco. am i crazy? when did slowly killing yourself become a good thing??

i really am a crazy san francisco hippie.

thanks mom and dad :)
