hey all - just a quick note to let everyone know that it's snowing outside right now - and i'm wearing tevas. i know it's still "technically" february - but really, it's practically march and march is spring and it doesn't snow in the springtime! i am soo done with winter.

on another note i'd like to give a big hurrah to old friends. i had dinner with a guy from high school the other night (Chris Jarvis - who is VERY tall) and had just a great time. it's really nice to know that people from cvhs grew up to be successful! but it was also great to get all the gossip on people i went to high school with (marriages, kids, even a divorce!) but it also made me realize i don't stay in touch with nearly enough people from high school. so if you're reading this - and we were friends in high school - please email me! (annamo@gmail.com) does that count as reaching out?

on another "old friends are great" thread, but a more recent one - i got re-connected with my roommates from last year - not that i really needed to get re-connected - but we hadn't all been together in so long (and we weren't really together cause emily is in fiji - but we all talked on the phone!) and it really made me realize what an incredibly awesome year i had last year and how incredibly lucky i am to have those 3 girls in my life. so i have decided to not be stupid and to hang out with them as much as possible - unfortunately since emily is in fiji (although i'm going in november!!) and blythe is in massachusetts, much of this burden falls on mulli - sorry mulli! :) although i'm pondering flying up to boston to see bb in may and making her come to a bo sox/a's game with me so that i can get beat up by angry massholes when i boo their team . . .

so that's that - no politics involved, i know. so for all you crazies who crave it (and yes, i'm totally one of them) here's today's tidbit:
you've heard about this wead guy - who taped bush's conversations? we know now that bush for sure smoked pot - is anyone else totally not surprised? i think it's kinda cute how all the news stations are being all "oh my god - this is incredible!" but really - the guys was a drunk all through college is it that far of a stretch to think he smoked up? anyway - i guess if we can just get that message through to his morally right base maybe they would disown him? or more likely, stare in awe and wonder at the power of religion to convert such a man into the god-fearing wunder-christian we have today.

already posted today - but i didn't want anyone to miss this fantastic article in the post today about social security. it's just sad really.

on the plus side i am PUMPED about my lunch today for some reason :)

on the super plus side i am even MORE PUMPED about booking my ticket to fiji tomorrow! as many of you know (or may not know) my roommate from last year, emily martin, has been in fiji for the peace corps since last june and i haven't seen her since then! this is quite a shock because we used to be inseperable in school. so i'm packing up an old boy scout backpacking backpack and going on a fijian adventure for thanksgiving this year! woo hoo!

i'm here and i have GREAT news! it comes in the form of 2 polls - excerpted below:

"A new Zogby poll of 2008 presidential contenders shows Hillary Clinton in a strong position and Al Gore with a "surprising" base of support. The Zogby poll, commissioned by WhatsNext Communications and conducted Feb. 14 to 17, indicates that Clinton enjoys support among a wide swath of likely voters. The poll indicates that Gore still has a persistent base of support. (Can someone say, "name recognition?"). Margin of error: 5.3 percent.

If the election were held today (and not, you know, almost four years from today), Clinton would take 32 percent, followed by John Kerry at 16 percent and Gore at 15 percent. John Edwards gets 9 percent, Howard Dean captures 7 percent (even though he's committed not to run), Bill Richardson scores 5 percent, Wesley Clark and Evan Bayh are tied with 3 percent each. Russ Feingold, who has said he's exploring an '08 bid, pulls just 1 percent. Fourteen percent of respondents are undecided."
